Generations
As a church, we want to cultivate intergenerational relationships. We are confident that we can learn from one another, we can build each other up, and simply serve alongside one another. We do things together.
Children and our Sunday Morning Worship Gathering
We have space for babies and toddlers in an adjoining room to our sanctuary. There is a window so that those with the children can see the worship gathering and there are speakers so that the worship gathering can be heard. Parents/guardians can sit with their babies or toddlers there or we have background-checked adults who are willing to play with children there while parents/guardians participate in the sanctuary. There is a changing table and age appropriate toys in this room.
Kids, kindergarten through sixth grade, start in the sanctuary with their families. After we sing and pray together as a church family, they go with our kids staff to a worship gathering of their own where they acknowledge the king in ways adapted specifically to kids. Once a month, kids will stay and participate in an all-ages worship gathering.
Youth
Most of what our youth do as a part of this church is the same as what we expect that every person who is a part of this church will do. We acknowledge God in worship gatherings. We are made more like God in personal disciplines. We belong to a redemptive community in our communities on mission. That is the core of our youth program. We do meet together, simply as youth, every other Sunday evening (see the calendar). The youth of Castle Hills Church of the Nazarene are learning commitment to the same mission as the rest of the church. Our goal is to cultivate Christ’s kingdom one conversation at a time.
Our youth participate in our communities on mission because we want their faith in Jesus to direct the way we live in the world we live in. We don’t want to live in fear of the world. We don’t want to avoid real-world problems. We don’t want to hide away in an insulated or disconnected clique. We believe that God is bringing the kingdom to earth as it is in heaven. We want to be God’s creative and redemptive agents in this world.
