Castle Hills Garden
What happens in the garden:
In the garden you will find a wide variety of people from the Collister neighborhood, Cynthia Mann Elementary, Castle Hills Church of the Nazarene, and the wider Treasure Valley. You will see African crops grow by recent immigrants. You will see many raising crops as an important part of their own food supply. You will see others raising food to give to food pantries. You will see flower beds. You will see unique interactions that could only happen here. Each person is responsible for their own rows according to our gardeners' agreement but there is also a good deal of mutual support and sharing.
The garden started as a benevolent garden, distributing produce through several local food banks and organizations. In 2021, the garden began a transition to become a community garden with many neighbors sharing space and resources to grow food and fellowship in NW Boise. If you are interested in gardening in 2024, you can contact the church for an application. castlehills.ministry@gmail.com
